Beijing Auto Show 2014

You’re about to read another special article of this blog. This one is dedicated to the latest edition of the Chinese event, which is also called Auto China and will be open for the public from April 21st to April 29th. This article will be regularly updated with short introductions about some of the cars exposed there organized by automaker, along with links for those which received their own full articles at this blog. Click to view in high resolution7-Series Horse Edition: Celebrating the Chinese tradition of associating each year with a different animal, the German automaker released a special edition of its flagship sedan in the 740Li trim. The Individual division gave three exclusive finishes for the standard metallic black, while M Sport contributed with aerodynamic kit and 19” wheels. The cabin adds a reference to the equine at the front headrests. The equipment list, in turn, was improved with adaptive LED headlights and the xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Click to view in high resolutionVeyron Grand Sport Roadster Vitesse Black Bess: The Legends collection reaches its fifth special series, which will be produced in only three copies, just like the others. This one honors the ‘1912 Type 18 Black Bess, which was one of the first sports cars ever and used a 100-hp 5.0L engine. This Veyron features carbon-fiber body in black painting paired to golden accents inside and outside, along with the leather internal coating in Havanna light-gray for seats and door panels and in Crimson red for the steering wheel.

Lamborghini

Nazionale’s other external features are attractive 20” or 21” forged wheels with titanium finishing and black painting, transparent engine cover and red brake calipers. The cabin received two-tone coating with carbon-fiber inserts and an embroidered Italian flag on the backrests.

Click to view in high resolutionRange Rover L Hybrid: Since Range Rover is sophisticated to the point of being compared to high-class sedans, why wouldn’t Land Rover take advantage of it? The extended-wheelbase version of its flagship SUV was combined to a hybrid propeller, which consists of the electric engine working together with the 3.0L SDV6, in order to deliver 340 cv and 71.3 kgfm through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle ignores its weight to the point of reaching average 15-kpl consumption and 169-g/km CO2 emissions.

Mercedes-Benz waited for its new generation and now joined its archenemies in pleasing Chinese customers with an extended-wheelbase of its best-selling sedan. The brand-new vehicle features an 80-mm increase (reaching 2.92 m) entirely dedicated to the rear passengers, along with a transparency control for the rear windows and electric controls for the front passenger. It’ll be offered in several trims, with engines going from 158 to 372 cv.

Rolls-Royce

Despite the exterior only receives two-tone painting with exclusive colors, the cabin is claimed to offer the most complex handicraft work executed for a Rolls-Royce car. There are items like exclusive wood panels, individual cushions for the rear passengers and the typical roof lights simulating a starry sky.
