Chevrolet Colorado 2016

Click to view the diesel engineSome years ago, the compact pickup category in North America was left entirely to Toyota Tacoma, because the Big Three no longer found it competitive. However, GM was the first one to change that, and now collects the benefits of it: Colorado became a success, and is about to make things even better in its second year of production under the new generation: you can take it with a diesel engine too, a turbocharged 2.8 good for 181 hp and 369 lb-ft. It’ll come only with crew cab, but accepts RWD or AWD. Besides, it received the same equipments as the luxury sister GMC Canyon, and the nice trim levels you’re just about to meet.

Chevrolet Colorado GearOn Special Edition (10/02/2015)

Pickup drivers love to improve their rides with accessories, and automakers love the money they can charge for that. So it isn’t exactly surprising that Colorado received a new variation focused on that. This one is available only with the LT trim, with extended and crew cab, and with rear or four-wheel drive. Starting at US$ 31,125, it brings several items taken from the GearOn line of accessories and Chevrolet’s own styling tweaks: black 18” aluminum wheels, black badges, body-color grille, cargo-bed divider, in-bed crossbars (for hauling objects such as bicycles), spray-in bedliner, tie-down rings, tubular running boards, and the Convenience package: easy-opening tailgate, fog lamps, rear-window defroster, and remote start. This model is already on sale.

Chevrolet Colorado Work Truck (04/03/2015)

In order to make its compact pickup even more popular, the North-American company now releases a bed-delete variation for it, obviously dedicated to commercial use. You’ll get a payload of 2,200 pounds, 6,001-pound GVWR, and all the other items typically offered by this kind of truck: four body-mount provisions per frame rail, full-size spare wheel, rear-bumper delete, towing package, locking differential, and an optional fuel filler for multiple rear configurations. This model is only offered with the 3.5 V6 engine (305 hp), rear-wheel drive, and extended cab. The latter can have the rear seats deleted too, in case you need to take more objects in the cabin. This model will go on sale soon, but only in North America.

Chevrolet Colorado Midnight Edition (03/08/2015)

After releasing this special edition for Impala and the Cadillacs ATS and CTS, along with the similarly-themed Silverado Black Out and the GMCs Canyon Nightfall and Sierra Elevation, now it’s time for Colorado to embrace the darkness. The compact pickup follows the first three of those models by bringing several external elements in black (grille, 18” aluminum wheels, spray-in bedliner, tonneau cover and even the bow-tie are included) and the restrictions of having the body painted in the same color and taking it only in the LT trim. If all that only made you more interested in this vehicle, you’ll probably like starting to have choices: the cabin can be crew or extended, and all the three engines are available, including the brand new turbo-diesel 2.8 mentioned in the beginning of this article.
