Abarth
695 Biposto: If you thought the original 695 was already fun enough, how about knowing that Abarth managed to concentrate even more power in such a small car? Biposto appears as the fastest car ever produced by the company, featuring new tweaks in the turbocharged 1.4L in order to reach 190 cv – it goes from 0 to 100 kph in 5s9. It honors its name for removing the back seats, besides replacing the front ones by a Sabelt sports set with special safety belts in red. Other changes include Brembo brakes and OZ 18” aluminum wheels.
Alfa Romeo
Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde: If you agree that the Italian mid-size hatchback is still attractive enough to reject partial facelifts, you’re going to love this edition. Giulietta’s concept was enhanced with discreet changes, such as black wheels in 17” or 18”, exclusive exhaust system, darkened headlights, seats and steering wheel in Alcantara and 5” or 6.5” touchscreen for infotainment. The biggest surprise, however, lies under the hood: 4C’s turbocharged 1.8L was borrowed, using a double-clutch automatic gearbox and reaching 240 cv and 34.7 kgfm.
MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde: Alfa Romeo’s stylish supermini received a small-scale version of Giulietta’s brand new special series. MiTo features the same black-painted aluminum wheels in 17” but adds sporty bumpers with fog lights at the front, double exhaust pipe, rear spoiler, internal accents in carbon fiber, leather steering wheel, infotainment system with 5” touchscreen and dual-zone climate control. Opening the hood reveals the MultiAir 1.4L engine, good for 170 cv and 25,5 kgfm. This car uses a dual-clutch transmission.

S1: This is the long-awaited mass-production version of ‘2012 A1 quattro. The exterior tweaks were somewhat toned down, but there’s still a nice resemblance – which also comes for Sportback sibling this time. The interior features sport seats, exclusive gauges and some parts in the external color, which the S kit upgrades with items like even sportier, one-piece seats. S1 uses a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0L engine, capable of 231 hp and 273 lb-ft and of taking it from 0 to 100 kph. It’s expected to start at €24,259 in Germany.
S3 Cabriolet: Now you don’t have to decide between driving fast or feeling the wind. Audi has put together both high performance and convertible body, which makes it a 300-hp, cloth-top version of the latest A3. Like the regular Cabriolet, the electrically-operated top is folded in 18s and takes 40 L of trunk space. Like the regular S3, there’s a complete aerodynamic kit and the 2.0L TFSI engine reaches 38.7 kgfm and is paired to S Tronic transmission and quattro traction. Unlike any of these, this car will cost around €48.500.

500 Cult: After its first appearance in Brazil, the Cult trim now arrives in Europe. 500’s new variation comes in two sub-versions, both equipped with start/stop system and only differing at the turbocharged 0.9L’s output: Eco reaches 98 cv and emits 99 g/km of CO2, while Sport produces 105 cv and goes from 0 to 100 kph in 10s. This car’s equipment list will include 16” alloy wheels, leather seats in tobacco black or red, 7” touchscreen for the infotainment system, piano-black roof and external chrome accents.
Freemont Cross: This is how Dodge Journey’s Crossroad version arrives in Europe. Freemont’s newest trim repeats the exclusive bumpers with matte chrome accents, the 19” wheels and the very attractive look finished by the kit of black-painted parts, such as front grille and headlights. The cabin repeats these colors at dashboard and leather seats. Under the hood, the 2.0L Multijet II engine comes with FWD and six-speed manual transmission, reaching 138 cv or 168 cv – the latter can receive AWD and six-speed automatic.
Panda Cross: Not needing such a big vehicle as Freemont won’t be a reason to give up on a Fiat Cross. It’ll also reach Panda 4x4, whose exclusive plastic finishing includes bumpers and even the tail lights. They’re paired to titanium-colored accents and 15” wheels, but there won’t be many internal changes. The equipment list will be very generous, featuring stability and traction controls, differential lock and three-mode AWD. If you don’t want the 79-cv Multijet II 1.3L, the 89-cv TwinAir 0.9L brings an exclusive six-speed manual gearbox.

In order to deliver a more affordable concept of sportiness, F Sport uses exclusive wheels and aerodynamic kit with black accents, and received slight changes at the cabin. However, since it’s based on the standard RC350 trim, it preserves a 3.5L V6 engine, good for 318 cv. It’s equipped with the eight-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission.

Octavia Lauren & Klement: As the mid-size lineup’s newest upscale version, Lauren & Klement is another case of elegance emerging from the simple discretion. Whether as sedan or SW, this Octavia brings bi-xenon headlights, daytime and tail lights in LEDs, Canton audio system, 18” wheels and leather coating, the latter being used with several coating options. Octavia now got its own, riding extra 3,3 cm higher, using black and chrome external accents, bigger air intakes, exclusive fog lights, 17” aluminum wheels and a slightly tweaked interior, with two-tone coating and sport steering wheel. Nothing that drives it away from Škoda’s typical pragmatism. When it comes to powertrain, there will be all-wheel-drive and three engine options, between diesel and gasoline, but they’re not known yet.

CrossPolo: Following the hatchback’s latest facelift, now it’s time to show the exclusive tweaks performed at the light-off-road sibling. You can tell Polo’s Cross by the external lower portion in black plastic, exclusive 17” alloy wheels and the matte chrome accents, such as mirror caps and roof racks. Internally, there are new steering wheel and seat coating, besides redesigned gear and handbrake sticks. The mechanical part, however, is expected to follow the facelifted regular Polo’s options, as well as the equipment list.
Golf GTE: How nice for Golf is to have four sporty versions? Using a discreet package of visual items, now it’s electricity’s time to power the hatchback. A 101-cv engine is paired to the 148-cv TSI 1.4L, reaching a maximum of 201 cv and 35.5 kgfm as plug-in hybrid. When riding gasoline-free, GTE is limited to 130 kph and rides up to 50 km. If you opt for using both power sources, it goes from 0 to 100 kph in 7s6 and to 217 kph of top speed. It’s possible to drive for 940 km without recharging, and enjoying a 55.2 kpl fuel consumption.
Polo BlueGT: Volkswagen’s attempt of conciling fuel efficiency and sportiness at reasonable prices has reached its second iteration. Polo’s second performance version (only slower than GTI) follows the regular car’s facelift receiving a 15-mm lower suspension, 17” wheels, more aggressive bumpers and bigger spoilers. Opening the hood reveals a direct-injected, four-cylinder 1.4L engine, which reaches 148 cv (10 cv more than the outgoing car) and uses a six-speed manual transmission. There’s also a R-Line aerodynamic kit.
Polo Bluemotion: Who said efficient propulsion needed to use diesel and only diesel? Polo’s “greenest” trim enters 2014 not only with a slight facelift, but also with a whole new engine option. If you don’t want the three-cylinder, 74-cv, 1.4L TDI engine, now it’s possible to choose an 89-cv 1.0L TSI propeller. Both use the same exclusive aerodynamic kit, whose wheels and air intakes are specifically design to reduce air drag. If neither of these are efficient enough, plug-in hybrid and CNG versions will be released later.
